Kaffrine Scholarship Project

There are a handful of believers scattered in different villages around Kaffrine; their children are part of the first generation of Wolof children to be raised in Christian homes.

These young people have participated in children's storying groups, Christian summer camps, and different Sunday School and youth groups over the past several years through the work of many different missionaries.  They are now beginning to mature spiritually. They have grown up hearing God's Word and have seen Him work in the lives of their families. Three of these young people were baptized, at their own request, this year.

We are thrilled to see what God is doing in the lives of these young Wolof believers and their little brothers and sisters. We want to help them get a decent education to better equip them to serve God in the future.

Kaffrine Famine Project

The past rainy season saw the rains come late and quit early.

The millet growing in the fields dried up where it stood, not having formed grain on the stalks.

SIM is acting in conjunction with local government and non-government organizations to respond to this impending food disaster.
