Corey and Katie Garrett
On our 10th wedding anniversary this year, we were remembering back to 1998 when we mapped out our life goals. We had both heard God calling us to long-term missions in Africa as teenagers and we were excited about following that call together and forming a family.
Now in 2008, we feel so blessed to see how God has led us each step of the way, pouring out His good love and grace on us. We have been serving in Senegal since 2000, working side by side with believers from all around the world. God has blessed us with three precious daughters: Emma now 6, was born in Thiès, Senegal; Molly, 5, was born in Dakar, Senegal; and 2 yr.-old Julia Wheaton was born in Maine.
Over the past eight years, we have seen God working among the Wolof people, slowly and miraculously. We have had the privilege of sharing the Good News about Jesus with many Wolof people who have opened their homes and lives to us. At times, we have cried in frustration. Other times we have been filled with joy as some have believed and been baptized, joining the family of Christ.
We are grateful to be here, living out the dream God has put in our hearts of working towards the coming of His Kingdom in this dry and needy land.
